9th December 2018
I am thankful for every morning I wake up to, especially the one of today. A morning of mixed emotions with that ‘special‘ feeling always being my favourite because today, I celebrate another year of life! Special, not because it’s my day but because I am lucky enough to still be living a life filled with amazing people who give me so much love and make this day real special to me.
A stunning shade of blue, coupled with deep purple accents made from the softest silk – my favourite saree material. But it is the detailed pattern of reindeer, designed in India, which brings the attire alive; giving me all the festive feels and December bliss.
Birthday celebrations in the midst of a festive vibe adds to my love of being a December baby. The warmth, love and light felt in this month let alone on this day is truly precious and of its own kind. It’s a month of reflection and reminiscence on all our blessings throughout the past year, even those in disguise.
This past year for sure has been one of my best for many reasons: the wedding of my brother and sister in law, exploring parts of Sri Lanka and reaching great milestones. Graduating with a degree in Pharmacy, beginning my preregistration and launching this blog were all big goals of mine and achieving these make the highlights of my year.
What were your highlights of 2018?!
Although this day will come to an end, I know the memory of this opening chapter will always stay with me and that in itself is a gift.
With the start of another year of life, Christmas approaching and 2019 awaiting, I can’t help but feel the December bliss which surrounds.
I hope your December’s filling with all the warmth, happiness and love and may it be carried through to your new year and throughout!
I know it can be a difficult season for some, but stay positive and look for your inner joy of light.
