The world is enriched with such unique cultures; many we have yet to gain an insight of and many we have yet to experience.

Diversity is wonderful. As well as the connection with our own roots, connecting with people of different cultures around the world feeds the growth of our minds and knowledge; knowledge on the variety of foods they eat, the music they listen to, the songs they sing, their cultural dances, the language they speak and you guessed it, the CLOTHES they wear!

Although London born, my roots are of South Asia (Srilanka). Sarees are one of the most popular attire in Srilanka and what a gorgeous attire they are.

Saree : Venisons
This turquoise saree embedded with beautiful gold designs of what looks like ‘love birds’ matched well with a contrast blouse. The sunlight brought a glow to the saree which I absolutely loved.

Usually, the excess fabric of the saree would be used to design a complementary blouse which completes the attire, however, I chose to buy an already made blouse separately to the saree. A coral pink, gold studded blouse which once tailored, fitted perfectly! More ‘ready made’ blouses are definitely on my list to purchase for future sarees.

You have to taste a culture to understand it.
Grow your experiences, grow your knowledge, grow your understanding! We have been blessed with a multicultural world.
